Careers in Healthcare

Established over 25 years ago, the Rural Health Opportunities Program (RHOP) is a special program designed to help meet the need for health practitioners in rural communities. Students in the program are guaranteed admission to UNMC after the successful completion of all pre-professional requirements. Participating colleges include Chadron State College, Wayne State College, and Peru State College.

The Southeast Nebraska AHEC regional center (SE NE AHEC) creates partnerships on a local, State, and Federal level to help provide training and continuing education opportunities to students and health professionals in order to meet the state’s health and health workforce needs. The Southeast Nebraska AHEC is hosted through Public Health Solutions located in Crete, Nebraska.
The Southeast Nebraska AHEC is a hosted Area Health Education Center (AHEC) managed by Public Health Solutions, operating in partnership with the University of Nebraska Medical Center and the Nebraska AHEC Program Office, supported in part through HRSA grant #U77HP21499.
